Guides Using radars

Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut in the On My Radar web app, grouped by screen, with the Mac and Windows or Linux keys. Only shortcuts that actually exist are listed.

Updated October 30, 2026 · Checked against On My Radar build 2c4905d

On My Radar has a small set of keyboard shortcuts, built around two ideas: capture should be fast, and a shortcut must never eat a keystroke while you are writing. After reading this page you know every shortcut the web app responds to.

Mac and Windows

The app's "commit" shortcuts accept either modifier key, so one rule covers every computer.

  • On a Mac, use Command (written Cmd or the ⌘ symbol here). Control also works.
  • On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl.

The on-screen hints always say "cmd", for example "cmd + enter to drop", and the sidebar shows ⌘K, whatever computer you use. On Windows or Linux, read those as Ctrl. On a phone the keyboard hints are replaced by a note that tags are inferred.

Note: There is no shortcut help dialog and no command palette in the app. This page is the full list. The app has no keyboard shortcuts for moving between blips or radars, and no access keys.

Anywhere in the app

  • Cmd+K or Ctrl+K: open Quick drop, a dialog titled "Drop box" for capturing a thought. The sidebar has a "Quick drop" button with the same shortcut printed on it.
  • /: move the cursor to the search box at the top of the screen.
  • Esc: close the open dialog. Tab and Shift+Tab move through the dialog's controls and wrap around inside it.

Both Cmd+K and / stay out of your way. They do nothing while your cursor is in a text box, so they never take a character out of something you are typing. / also does nothing inside a dialog, and when combined with Cmd, Ctrl or Alt.

Quick drop

  • Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter: drop the text in. This does the same as the "Drop it in" button.
  • Plain Enter adds a new line.

Capturing on a radar

In the box where you type new blips:

  • Enter: start a new line. On a wide screen, the hint under the box reads "enter adds a line · cmd + enter captures" until you type a tag or a link, which the hint then shows instead.
  • Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter: capture the blip, the same as the "Capture" button.

Editing a blip

While you edit a blip in place:

  • Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter: save, from the text box.
  • Esc: cancel, from the title or the text box. The hint reads "esc to cancel" until you type a tag, which the hint then shows instead.

Comments

  • Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter: post the comment or reply.
  • When the @ menu is open: Up and Down move through people and agents, Enter or Tab inserts the highlighted one, and Esc closes the menu without closing anything else.
  • With the reaction picker open, Esc closes it.

In the search box at the top of the screen:

  • Down and Up: move through the quick results that appear while you type.
  • Enter: open the full results, or open the highlighted result.
  • Esc: close the quick results.

While a filter suggestion list is showing, after you type in:, from:, topic:, has:, is:, kind: or template::

  • Down and Up: move through suggestions.
  • Tab: take the highlighted suggestion, even before you have moved.
  • Enter: take the highlighted suggestion only after you have moved with the arrow keys. Otherwise it runs the search.
  • Esc: hide the suggestions.

See Search syntax.

Dialogs and forms

  • Enter in a single-line name or email field confirms the dialog. This works when creating a radar, a topic or a smart radar, renaming a topic, sharing a radar or topic by email, naming a new dashboard tab, and the "Type (name) to confirm" box on a delete once the name matches.
  • Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter in the "New decision" box of a replacement dialog submits it.
  • Esc closes any dialog.

Images and files

In the image viewer:

  • Left and Right: previous and next image.
  • Esc: close.

On a captured email that has both views, the "Message" and "Text" tabs respond to Left, Right, Home and End while one of them has focus.

Architecture radars

On an Architecture radar's map, an element can be reached with Tab. Press Enter or Space to select it.

Agent prompt, memory and brief editors

The rich-text editor used in the Agent Repo, for prompts, memories and briefs, has formatting shortcuts, shown in its toolbar tooltips. The tooltips show Mac keys. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl in place of Cmd, and Alt and Shift in place of the Option and Shift symbols.

  • Bold: Cmd+B
  • Italic: Cmd+I
  • Inline code: Cmd+E
  • Bulleted list: Cmd+Option+8
  • Numbered list: Cmd+Option+7
  • Quote: Cmd+Shift+B
  • Code block: Cmd+Option+C
  • Undo: Cmd+Z
  • Redo: Cmd+Shift+Z

Markdown shortcuts also work as you type, for example ## at the start of a line for a heading.

Gestures are not shortcuts

Swiping a card on a phone, dragging a card between lanes on a board, and dragging dashboard panels are all pointer or touch actions. Each one has an ordinary button or menu as well, which you can reach with the keyboard.
